An event in honor of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Michel Eichelbaum’s 85th birthday.
Over the course of decades, Prof. Eichelbaum has had a profound influence on clinical pharmacology and has played a decisive role in bridging the gap between molecular mechanisms and their application in patient care. A major milestone was his world-first description of the CYP2D6 polymorphism using the drug Spartein as an example – a fundamental discovery that continues to shape pharmacogenetics to this day.
