Dr. Daniel Dettling is the founder of the think tank Institut für Zukunftspolitik and heads the Berlin office of the Zukunftsinstitut. Following his civilian service in Israel, the lawyer and political scientist studied law, public administration, political science, and political economy at the universities of Freiburg, Fribourg (Switzerland), Berlin (Second State Examination), and Potsdam (doctorate). He is editor of the edition Zukunftspolitik, co-founder of the German Association of Political Consultants (degepol), and is considered one of Germany’s leading political experts. He has published extensively on issues relating to democracy, demographics, digitalization, social and economic policy, civil society, and political communication, among others, in publications such as Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung, WELT, and Welt am Sonntag. For many years, Daniel Dettling has also been a sought-after keynote speaker for companies, NGOs, ministries, associations, political parties, and foundations.
