Scholarship Program “Applied AI in Healthcare Delivery”

The Bosch Health Campus and ETH Zurich have launched a joint scholarship program to advance the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare delivery. By supporting early-career researchers, the partners aim to develop patient-centered AI solutions that will make the healthcare delivery of tomorrow more efficient, personalized, and accessible.

What Are We Aiming to Achieve?

By supporting five early-career researchers to date, the project partners aim to develop innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications for clinical practice while leveraging the complementary strengths of both institutions: ETH Zurich’s expertise in AI development and entrepreneurship, and Bosch Health Campus’ expertise in translating innovation into real-world healthcare settings. Current research areas include:

  • Predictive models for complex chronic diseases based on routine healthcare data
  • AI applications in cancer diagnostics
  • Personalized medicine enabled by intelligent systems
  • AI-supported prediction of drug effects and interactions

How Does the Fellowship Program Work?

Fellows are embedded within the research areas of Bosch Health Campus according to their individual research focus. The first fellowship positions are based at the Center for Medical Data Integration (meDIC) and the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology (IKP).

Research projects currently explore how AI systems originally developed for the early detection of kidney disease can be adapted to other conditions, such as cardiovascular diseases. Another focus area examines how Artificial Intelligence can enhance pathological diagnostics in breast cancer care.

At ETH Zurich, fellows gain access to the ETH AI Center and receive support for research projects in areas such as personalized medical technologies and AI-powered medical imaging.
