Brief description: The DAIOR project aims to create the operating room of the future—digitally connected and capable of continuously receiving, transmitting, and processing knowledge—through clinically effective use cases and a planned AI ecosystem.
By using federal learning methods, AI algorithms can be trained with data from different locations, even across national borders, while the data remains at the locations and data protection is guaranteed. The project focuses on two use cases: the continuous analysis of surgical data for real-time support during operations and cross-border AI-assisted, robot-supported telesurgery.
Goals/outcomes: Development of a German-French distributed AI ecosystem for use in the operating room
Project partners: Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V., Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire de Strasbourg
