Implementation of Digital Health and Telemedicine Solutions

The BDIH – KTBW supports several projects in implementing digitalization concepts and telemedicine approaches in real-world healthcare and care delivery. On the one hand, it supports existing publicly funded projects in Baden-Württemberg with expertise and networks to help ensure that innovative approaches are successfully integrated into routine care beyond the end of the funding period. On the other hand, it is actively involved in the practical implementation of specific pilot projects that have emerged from previous publicly funded initiatives.

“Town Hall Consultation” – Enzklösterle

The so-called “Town Hall Consultation,” which emerged from the AMBIGOAL research project, offers the citizens of Enzklösterle, a municipality without resident general practitioners, a free “Digital Consultation.” This initiative enables citizens to receive medical care via video consultation. The digital consultation at Enzklösterle Town Hall is provided by physicians from the region, who bill the costs to the statutory health insurance funds. Supporting medical staff on site carry out certain examinations on behalf of the physicians as part of delegated care. The digital consultation enables medical consultations and advice, prescription and referral requests, sick notes, as well as basic diagnostics using telemedicine devices. Appointments can be booked through Enzklösterle Town Hall.

Community Platform

The idea for the community platform “Gesundheit Aktuell Wildberg” was developed as part of the AMBIGOAL project. This took place during a workshop with representatives and employees of the municipal administration, the Calw District Senior Citizens’ Council, the Wildberg Senior Citizens’ Council, a member of the municipal council, and representatives of local social institutions. The aim of the workshop was to identify and implement the needs and requirements for a digital health and networking platform for the town of Wildberg.

The platform provides a wide range of information on local healthcare providers as well as up-to-date information on events relating to health-related topics. However, the platform goes beyond simply providing information. It expands healthcare services within the Wildberg community by providing information and links to free online services such as self-help groups, addiction prevention and counseling, video consultations, and health counseling.

Work is currently underway to embed the platform within the Wildberg community and establish it sustainably. This is being carried out in close cooperation with the municipal administration and other local stakeholders. A dedicated local project coordinator on site is intended to ensure that the platform is used and further developed on a permanent basis in order to promote healthcare and networking throughout the town
